“Our visit to the Bubble Unit in the Great North Children’s Hospital really hit home to how important our skydive fundraising is. We may be terrified at jumping out of a plane… but we realise it is nothing compared to the dedication of this team to save the lives of children born with no immune defences. The children and babies live separated from the outside world in a totally sterile rooms because exposure to any germs would be fatal. Even toys can only ever be used by one child to stay sterile. The only cure is matching an exact bone marrow donor and we are all signing onto the Anthony Nolan register now as the transplant is now normally done from a stem cell blood sample and not direct bone marrow. Something we didn’t know. These children are so brave and each deserve the chance to live a normal healthy life Please, please help us to raise funds to help”
